Colección: In Full Color

Between 1909 and 1915, the British Colonial Office commissioned over 7,500 photographs of people across Southern Nigeria and Sierra Leone. The subjects were posed, numbered, and stripped of name, colour, and context. The camera was a tool of reduction.
In Full Colour is a series of over one hundred paintings that reverses that process. Each work reimagines the subjects of colonial documentation not as they were recorded, but as they were — alive, adorned, and surrounded by the natural world the archive left out.
In Full Colour is available as original paintings and giclée prints on fine art paper
